John Wallace, CEO
John Wallace has a successful track record applying data mining techniques to complex business problems, and specializes in designing applications to analyze customer profitability, customer loyalty, product profitability and product quality. His focus is on multichannel attribution and customer targeting.
His consulting experience spans the automotive, financial services, ISP, grocery, wireless, retail, PC/server and consumer software industries. He has managed application development teams, created system architecture, developed new analytical methodologies, and estimated complex models. He leverages techniques including text mining, response modeling, segmentation, and hazard modeling. John holds an MBA in Decision Science from George Washington University.
Brandon Mason, CTO
Brandon has over fifteen years of industry and consulting experience in a wide range of industries, including online advertising, marketing, retail, automotive, web analytic, big data, and high availability applications & data centers. His work in these industries has focused on executive management, product management, program management, new application development, large scale applications, 24/7 operations, and off-shore development. Brandon has earned an MBA from the George Washington University and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland.
Brenda Teng, COO
Brenda leads strategy and business development for UpStream. She has over fifteen years of industry and consulting experience in a wide range of industries, including financial services, automotive, aerospace, photovoltaic, education and computer hardware. Her work in these industries has focused on business and product strategy, growth, performance management, and operational improvements. Brenda earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California.
Traci Lee Chu, Vice President Marketing & Customer Success
Traci has over 15 years of marketing experience, including multi-channel lead/revenue generation, strategy, marketing automation, forecasting and analytics. Traci's multi-channel expertise spans email, direct mail, SEO/SEM, referral, social networking, display, affiliate, and industry generated. She joined UpStream after working with the team as a client and was most recently the VP of Marketing and CRM at Bella Pictures. Previously, she developed and implemented strategies and marketing programs for home furnishings retailer Williams-Sonoma Inc, and Broderbund Software Company. Traci received her BA from University of California, Riverside.
Phil Corrin, Vice President User Experience
Before joining UpStream, Phil was a senior consultant at a management consulting firm in London that specialized in operations research and information technology solutions. He has worked for clients in the telecommunications, financial services and airlines industries and for British government agencies. Phil has experience in a wide variety of areas such as text parsing algorithms, prototype decision support software, customer segmentation, retail staffing modeling, database design, .NET development and MS Office automation. He holds a BS in Statistics from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Neil Hillis, Ph.D, Vice President Architecture
Prior to joining UpStream, Neil was a principal consultant at SAS Institute. He has worked for customers in the retail, automotive and healthcare industries, providing services that have included analytical CRM, data quality and cleansing, web-based reporting and system architecture. As Chief Architect and Technical Lead, Neil has designed and developed frameworks for a variety of analytical applications. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of California Irvine.
Bala Kandula, Vice President Software
Bala’s experience includes both architecting applications and managing development teams. As a senior technical architect, Bala has designed systems for the financial, retail, automotive, healthcare and legal sectors. These applications have covered functional areas that include Web, Workflow, OLAP and Reporting. He holds a Masters in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University.
